I already mentioned how much I love this, but I thought I'd say it again. This fic is awesome. ♥ You have their characters down really well.

I'm glad you enjoyed it again, along with the formatting changes that I made ;)

Well, since I already told you that I really like this, I'm going to keep my comment short. Especially the last line and the fact that it was sent so many years later was beautiful. A great, hopeful ending :D

I like hopeful endings. Don't think I could actually be cruel enough to keep them apart forever, though I suppose the last letter doesn't mean they got back together, but it's hopeful... :D

That ending actually made me cry. It was just beautiful. And the fact that he replied so many years later. <3

re: Sealed with a Kiss

What an intriguing story! You really used the letter format very well to tell a rather complex and engaging tale spanning so many years and touching on issues of friendship and love in a very original way. I love how subtly you've woven in the first part of the prompt - how Harry did not keep his friends close by leaving the wizarding world, and then Hermione and Ron bascially ended their friendship, as they could not understand what was going on with Harry. Quite a unique portrayal of Hermione and Ron as a couple, btw - I don't think I've ever seen them written quite so unsympathetically. I like it. Ironically, in your story, it's the former enemies who became friends by getting close, rather than stupefying each other ;-). I wonder who was behind the stupefying attacks on Draco - the Ministry? His former mates from school? And of course I love Harry's last letter, written on the day of the Epilogue, fifteen years after Draco's apology and declaration of his love. It's such a hopeful ending. Thanks for writing!

Re: Sealed with a Kiss

I like a little irony in my life...okay, that's a lie. I like a lot of irony and sarcasm, sarcasm's good.

Thank you for your comment about Ron and Hermione, it's just, I kind of understand what they went through, and though it does seem rather cold just seeing what they wrote (more Hermione than Ron), the whole thing was just really hard to process.

O.o I like mystery too ;D

I think the style of this is amazing - I'm not usually a big fan of letter-style stories, but I think you did it in a way that it didn't distract, but rather enhanced the story - and I absolutely LOVED the ending. Great job! ♥

Glad you liked the style, I actually wrote about 80% of the story in just normal prose before I decided to try this, but the letter format felt more true to what I was trying to accomplish.

Wow! This was really amazing. I love the letter writing style and the relationship seen through it. I love that you stuck to your "team" and had the last entry be when it is. Really well done!

April 6 2009, 16:25:09 UTC 3 years ago

Thank you. It was a little difficult for me to stick to my team because I'm a very EWE type of person and I sort of hate that I had to rip them apart, but the lovely thing about being Team Epilogue is that there really can be, and sort of has to be, this slow development of their relationship that I do love.

Yay for the hopeful ending! I loved Draco's voice in this. His journey, and his parents, was wonderfully realistic. Very romantic too! :)

Thank you!! I love Draco's voice too, particularly at the beginning, he's so snobbish sometimes, but I love him. :D

*wipes tear* This was really beautiful and I love the different letters along the years. I thought that Draco's journal entries were a nice addition to the correspondence and it was a great way to get a look into his head. Even though the ending was hopeful, I'm still a bit sad about Harry finding out about Draco and the Ministry. :(

Great job on this one, it's really amazing.

*hands out more tissues* Glad you liked how everything was formatted, it was a difficult decision, but a right one I believe.

I wish Harry hadn't had to find out, but I'm Team Epilogue, these things have to happen, unfortunately.

Thank you!

April 5 2009, 21:37:31 UTC 3 years ago

Wow.

The letter format worked extremely well on that one (and I'm known to be picky here). A flight through time, so to speak. So much insight - and still so many in-between-lines things to figure out for ourselves.

And a perfect ending which sent a punch to the gut first and then set up hope.

As I said: wow :)

[info]silverdragon87

April 6 2009, 16:31:04 UTC 3 years ago

Haha, thanks.

I mentioned to another reviewer that I had originally written most of the story in just normal prose before I decided that it wasn't working and went with this format instead. I feel that it works better with all the gaps in time and whatnot that I did.

I'm glad you enjoyed it though!

I love how the letters tell a the whole story. Especially extending the years before Harry finally responds works well for your team.

This is definitely interesting with perspective, because you would think it was Harry's but it's actually Draco's. But the letters to Harry give you the context of what has happened and that's what is so lovely about this. Nice work!

April 6 2009, 03:51:08 UTC 3 years ago

That was so amazing. I loved it. I wished you had been on team EWE so Draco and Harry could have been together sooner. The end was just perfect even if it was send all those years later.

[info]silverdragon87

April 6 2009, 16:37:07 UTC 3 years ago

:D Team EWE may have been nicer in terms of getting the two together sooner, but Team Epilogue forces it to be almost a little more heartbreaking I suppose, 15 years later and he still loves Draco.

It's lovely how much you can convey in so few words. I enjoyed the structure of this - I really like how the letters take us on this journey through their relationship, and how you added some introspection on Draco's part in the form of his journal entries. The ending was perfect.

At first I didn't notice the date on the last letter, and I was all "Yay! Happy!" But then I realized it was FIFTEEN YEARS LATER and OMG SAD. =( =( =( But it still seems hopeful, at least. =) I really enjoyed this, loved the letters! =)

I loved this! I'm always a bit unsure of epilogue stories because to me it means that they won't end up together and I'm a sucker for happy endings. This stuck true to the epilogue but that last letter gives us hope, and I really enjoy that. :)

[info]silverdragon87

April 6 2009, 16:43:13 UTC 3 years ago

I'm such a sucker for happy endings too and I normally don't like epilogue compliant fics, but I do love my team and everything that they've done (they're great!) But yes, I had to give it a hopeful ending partially just because I can't stand to see them apart.

This was very interesting- I really liked the letter format. I felt like I didn’t completely know what was going on though. It left a lot of the story up to my imagination (which has its pluses and minuses). I generally like a lot more explanation and descriptions. That being said, I think you’ve created a wonderful story here. It was definitely believable as to what was happening with Draco- where he worked, that his shop/he were under attack, etc.- and how he came to visit Harry. I couldn’t really see him seeking out Harry on his own, but I think it being an assigned task is very believable. I really liked how we could monitor the transformation from a “job” into a friendship- and then into something else (even though I would have loved more)- especially through diary entries. I’m sad that since you are on Epilogue, we know what will happen (and it will not be what I want), but I really liked that it ended with the “I love you too”- it was heart-breakingly beautiful. Well done!

I wondered if I needed to add more entires, but I wanted to keep it pretty open-ended, let you guys make the connections.

I like the letter format mostly because I'm a screenwriter, so writing normal prose can be a little awkward for me at times.

I'm glad you were still able to follow along and enjoy the story though!

I love stories written in letter style and this was a great example of one! I loved how Draco's journal contrasted with the letters he was sending to the Ministry. The last line was perfect, you totally managed to keep the hope of the relationship alive while remaining in the bounds of the epilogue. This was a great read :)

I have such a thing for letters in fics and this one is one of the best if not the best I have ever read. I loved all the letters. I felt like everyone of them had the voice of the people writing them. And such a clever idea to have Draco write a diary so we could get that side of the story too.

At first the ending made me go all mushy and happy that Harry replied. Then I noticed the date and my heart just broke. Love those bitter sweet endings ^_^
